John Kean – Principal Consultant

As Principal Consultant and official in-house rocket scientist, John brings to eGloo a combination of customer focus, creativity, clarity, eclectic interests and the ability to transfer his skills to others.  In a career spanning 40 years – for the most part connected with Defence in UK and Australia - he has been craftsman, draftsman, spacecraft systems and trials engineer, mechanical designer, project and risk manager, systems engineer, strategic analyst, academic (delivering post-graduate training), quality assurance and documentation specialist.

John has degrees in mechanical engineering and mathematics, with post-graduate qualifications in engineering and management. He is or has been member of the Royal Aeronautical and British Interplanetary Societies in UK, Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in USA and Systems Engineering Society in Australia.  He was awarded an Australia Day Medal in 1996.

John has worked extensively in European consortia, particularly with France and Germany, contracted to NASA in the USA.

An independent systems consultant for the past 12 years, John has advised a wide range of industries, including rail transport, training, logistics, IT and energy suppliers.

John’s documentation expertise ranges from engineering and quality systems specification with emphasis on requirements elicitation and traceability to the creation, editing and production of all kinds of manuals, proposals and business reports.
