LexisNexis Australia
Technology: Legal Publishing/XML & Specifications
LexisNexis is a global leader in legal publishing. They provide authoritative legal, news, public records and business information; including tax and regulatory publications in online, print or CD-ROM formats.
LexisNexis Australia contracted eGloo Technologies to assist them with the implementation of their new regional and global publishing processes and standards. eGloo's focus was to undertake research and create several key documents including: output format specifications, conversion specifications, data migration plans, and QA and data inspection plans relating to many of LexisNexis key publications including Halsbury's Laws of Australia, and the LawNow Legislation publications.
eGloo researched and wrote a suite of about 20 technical specification documents on behalf of LexisNexis. These documents were critical to the successful implementation of LexisNexis' new regional and global platforms, and were used extensively both within LexisNexis and also by external contractors within Australia and overseas.
LexisNexis acknowledged that the quality of the research and documentation provided by eGloo was a key factor contributing to the smooth and timely progress of the projects, and also in containing the costs of managing overseas contractors.
In addition to developing data inspection and quality assurance strategies on behalf of LexisNexis, eGloo also built key software to support these processes. eGloo also provides contract programmers to undertake various components of the project.
