HNSW Monster Website Goes Live!

7 May 2007

3 years ago eGloo's Managing Director, Don Stolee, had lots of ideas in his head to move the sport of ice hockey into the digital era. It began with the Canterbury Eagles (Don's local club) website and has now culminated in the launch of the Ice Hockey New South Wales website www.nswicehockey.com.au.

"It's been three years in the making", said Stolee, "We have now given IHNSW a website that incorporates automated "business modules" that collect, store and disseminate information to members and the general public at different secure levels. The statistical sections throughout the site are automated. Online documents include the IHNSW Handbook and IIHF Rule Book with a comprehensive section dedicated to IHNSW Officials. There are also over 200 drills to assist coaches.

eGloo combined the registration and statistical database which in turn enables IHNSW to open communication channels and ensure accountability and enforcement of IHNSW Rules and Regulations.

Each club within IHNSW is also represented with its own dedicated page and everyone is kept up-to-date with the Events page and the Critical Events Ticker located on the home page.

A site highlight is the About page where Syd Tange's, Ice Hockey: The NSW Ice Hockey, Association Inc. Australia - Facts and Events 1907-1999, can be found. It's updated on a monthly basis.

Stolee said, "This Syd Tange section is very cool, not only is it retro (pictures) it contains loads of historical information on the sport within Australia, I couldn't believe that this publication was not available to the public years ago."

"The team at eGloo need to be congratulated, I was able to get the ideas out of my head and into the technology bucket. Everyone went beyond the outer limits to get this thing done!" added Stolee.
